HeartRhythm secures nearly 100 million RMB in Series A funding to fully establish a mechanical circulatory support technology platform for heart failure.

Shanghai Dynaheart Medical Technology Co., Ltd. (Dynaheart) has closed nearly 100 million RMB in Series A funding, led by IDG Capital with participation from Huage Capital and Langmafeng Capital. The funds will be primarily used for the clinical trials required to register the company's first product, the OmniHeart percutaneous ventricular assist device, as well as to accelerate the research, development, clinical trials, and commercialization of its existing product line and new products.

As the fastest-growing company in heart failure product development, Dynaheart Medical was founded in 2021 in Minhang District, Shanghai, with a focus on the R&D and commercialization of innovative medical devices for heart failure. We are committed to providing comprehensive, safe, and effective intelligent mechanical circulatory support solutions for heart failure patients. In clinical practice, the disease progression varies among heart failure patients, leading to different needs for mechanical circulatory support at each stage. To address this, HeartConstant has innovatively developed percutaneous ventricular assist devices, implantable ventricular assist devices, and implantable biventricular assist devices—creating a three-in-one solution tailored for Chinese patients. Our flagship product, Omniheart Percutaneous Ventricular Assist Device, exemplifies the "HeartConstant Speed," completing the transition from R&D to clinical application in just 2 years. It is the first device of its kind successfully used in clinical research trials in China and is poised to lead large-scale confirmatory clinical studies.

Rigorous and efficient, uniting a professional team.

Dr. Huang Lin, the company's founder, graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology and Beihang University. With 10 years of experience in medical device R&D, he has held leadership roles at top domestic and international companies including Medtronic, leading and contributing to the development of multiple Class III medical devices.

Co-founder Mr. Jiang Haiyang holds both bachelor's and master's degrees from Tsinghua University and has 15 years of experience in the aerospace and medical device industries. He previously served as a Senior Project Manager at MicroPort CardioFlow, leading the development of the transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) project. Our core team members collectively possess over 10 years of experience in healthcare or related fields, with expertise spanning fluid dynamics, mechanical engineering, electronics, software, and materials science.

Comprehensive portfolio of implantable and interventional artificial hearts, delivering one-stop mechanical circulatory support solutions.

Leveraging its core technology platform, Dynaheart Medical has developed a multi-product pipeline in the mechanical circulatory support field for heart failure. For patients at any stage of heart failure, Dynaheart provides personalized ventricular assist devices for effective treatment. Its percutaneous ventricular assist device series offers effective short-to-medium-term circulatory support for high-risk clinical scenarios such as PCI, cardiogenic shock, acute myocardial infarction, cardiorenal syndrome, and right-sided heart failure. For refractory end-stage heart failure, long-term implantable ventricular assist devices enable bridge-to-transplant or durable therapy. In the future, Dynaheart will also launch dual-ventricular assist devices and total artificial hearts to treat patients with biventricular heart failure.

Overcoming core technical barriers and filling a domestic gap, the implantable ventricular assist device is set to launch clinical trials for registration.

OmniHeart is a percutaneous ventricular assist device independently developed by Dynaheart Medical. It features fully independent intellectual property rights and offers significant advantages across multiple dimensions:

  1. Efficient fluid design with high flow rates (above 4.0L/min). Notably, its hemolysis index (NIH) is reduced by 90% compared to industry standards, minimizing blood damage and delivering superior product performance.
  2. A fully proprietary micro-implantable motor with compact size, high power density, excellent biocompatibility, and high reliability. It delivers sustained, stable operation for over 7 days, meeting treatment needs for patients undergoing high-risk PCI and most cases of cardiogenic shock.
  3. Intelligent Safety Monitoring System: Uses built-in algorithms to determine blood pump position and operational status, enhancing safety during continuous operation in non-OR settings (e.g., ICU, transport) to better meet clinical needs.

According to Dr. Huang Lin, founder of XinHengRui, developing the percutaneous ventricular assist device (pVAD) presents challenges beyond fluid dynamics design—such as impeller configuration and hemodynamics. It also requires solving critical issues related to the implantable micro-motor itself, including reliability, durability, biocompatibility, and thermal management. The product has already secured multiple core patents and is currently undergoing the NMPA's Special Review Program for Innovative Medical Devices.

Heart failure is often called "the final battlefield of heart disease," characterized by high incidence and mortality rates, as well as poor prognosis. Statistics show that the prevalence of heart failure reaches 20% among people aged 70-80, with 50% of patients dying within 5 years of diagnosis. As survival rates for conditions such as heart disease and diabetes improve and populations age globally, the number of heart failure patients is projected to continue rising. Xinhongrui's self-developed OmniHeart percutaneous ventricular assist device offers a promising new dawn in treatment for heart failure patients worldwide.
